Paul Walker appeared to have it all—and by many standards, he truly may have. A handsome, talented native “California boy” who enjoyed surfing and became almost unimaginably wealthy as one of the stars of the wildly popular “The Fast and the Furious” movie franchise, Paul Walker represented a traditional version of the “American Dream.” He was happy, successful, enjoyed a stable long-term relationship and loved his teenage daughter who adored him in return.
Then, in a cruel and ironic twist of fate, Paul Walker’s life came to a tragic end in the fiery crash of the kind of high-performance sports car he drove onscreen and often on professional tracks in real life. His friend Roger Rodas was at the wheel, and also died in crash.
Paul Walker was just 40 years old. Roger Rodas was 38.
When we are young, our “final decisions” may seem light years away. Matters such as a probate plan, including documents such as wills, trusts, living wills, durable powers of attorney, and health care surrogates may be the furthest thing from our minds. The cold truth, however, is that we quite literally never know what may be just around the next corner. One minute, Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas were enjoying a beautiful Southern California day, laughing and smiling, content after a successful event for Walker’s charity Reach Out Worldwide, which supports first responders around the globe. The next, both men—both fathers of minor children—were gone.
The Law Offices of Paul J. Healy have helped the residents of Jacksonville and Duval County set up probate documents since 1989. If we may be of service to you, contact us today at 904-391-0029 or online.
